Paul Goldschmidt launched a leadoff home run on the very first pitch of the game, Trent Grisham added a three-run blast, and the New York Yankees snapped a four-game skid with a 6-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.

Will Warren (5-1) delivered a strong bounce-back performance on the mound, allowing two runs and four hits over 5 2/3 innings. The right-hander had struggled in his previous start against Texas, giving up six runs in four innings.

Goldschmidt’s fourth career leadoff homer, and his second in four days, put New York ahead for good. Grisham’s drive in the third inning extended the lead to 6-0. Both home runs came off Orioles left-hander Trevor Rogers, who lasted just four innings in his return from the injured list after an extended illness.

Rogers (2-4), pitching for the first time since April 25, surrendered six runs and six hits, pushing his ERA to 5.77 — a sharp contrast to his 1.81 mark in 2025. He ran into trouble in the third when he issued back-to-back walks, loading the bases with one out. Cody Bellinger then grounded into a forceout that drove in a run, Amed Rosario added an RBI on an infield single, and Grisham capped the rally with his sixth homer of the season.

The offensive support was more than enough for New York to secure its 10th win in 11 games against Baltimore dating back to last season.

Both teams successfully challenged all four ABS calls against plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt.

The Yankees also made a roster move, recalling shortstop Anthony Volpe from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and placing José Caballero on the 10-day injured list with a fractured finger. Volpe is expected to start in Wednesday’s series finale.

Wednesday’s game has been moved to 1:05 p.m. due to the threat of inclement weather. Max Fried (4-2, 2.91 ERA) is set to start for New York, while Kyle Bradish (1-5, 4.83) is the likely starter for Baltimore.
