Five-time World Cup winner with Brazil, Cafu drew attention on social media after an interview with ESPN where he made direct comparisons between top football attackers. During a rapid-fire question segment, the former full-back picked Neymar as superior to several prominent international stars.
Throughout the interview, Cafu was asked who he would choose between the Santos No. 10 and other players. Without hesitation, the ex-Brazil captain responded firmly that he would pick the Brazilian star. The same answer repeated when compared with players like Harry Kane, Memphis Depay, Romelu Lukaku, Bernardo Silva, Darwin Núñez, Julián Álvarez, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi.
When asked about Kylian Mbappé, Cafu reinforced his opinion: “Neymar, without a doubt,” he said. Following that, the five-time champion also placed the Brazilian No. 10 above Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
At the end, Cafu explained that, in his view, only one player currently stands above Neymar: “Neymar only loses to one person, in my point of view: Ronaldinho Gaúcho,” he concluded.
